Greetings everyone from Kentucky! We have the hotel and date for the next reunion... It will be Sept. 18-21, 2013 at the Embassy Suites in Lexington, KY..... It is a beautiful hotel and right off the I-75 and I-64 interchange. Very easy to get to.. And Lexington has the Bluegrass Airport for those who will fly here. Next step is to meet with the tour guide who has been great, via the email, to set us up with good rates and nice tours.. since KY is the only state that makes bourbon, even if you don't like the stuff, a tour of a distillery is a must.. they are so informative and in beautiful settings.. it is the lime in the water that makes good bourbon; as it is the lime in the soil that grows bluegrass for the race horses. So we plan a back scene tour of one of the beautiful horse farms... Next month we are meeting with the tour company to finalize the tours. We most likely will send out our first letter late summer or early fall. But if you know someone else who comes and can email them with the date, please do. And does anyone have someone else we can add to the mailing list? Just drop us an email. We are so excited to show everyone the beautiful bluegrass state of Kentucky. We most likely will take a short tour downtown Lexington, too. It is charming and has lots of history.. Abraham Lincoln's wife, Mary Todd, was born in downtown Lexington! |
